Seasonal Allergy Relief Tea

Updated: Apr 3

Herbal Seasonal Allergy Relief Tea

As the seasons shift and allergens fill the air, many of us feel it in our bodies—sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, and fatigue. Instead of immediately reaching for over-the-counter solutions, this gentle herbal tea offers a natural way to support your immune system and calm your body’s response to seasonal allergies.

This blend combines four powerful plant allies: elderberry, stinging nettle, licorice root, and hibiscus—each bringing its own healing quality to create a tea that is both effective and deeply soothing.

Ingredients

(Makes 1–2 servings)

  • 1 tablespoon dried elderberries

  • 1 tablespoon dried stinging nettle leaf

  • 1 teaspoon licorice root (cut/sifted)

  • 1 tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers

  • 2 cups filtered water

Optional: maple syrup or fresh lemon to taste

How to Prepare

  1. In a small pot, combine the water, elderberries, and licorice root.

  2. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and add the nettle leaf and hibiscus flowers.

  4. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.

  5. Strain and pour into your favorite mug.

Enjoy warm for a soothing effect, or chill and serve over ice for a refreshing herbal infusion.

Benefits:

Stinging Nettle

A natural antihistamine that may help reduce sneezing, itching, and inflammation. Nettle also supports overall immune balance and nourishment.

Elderberry

Rich in antioxidants, elderberry helps the body respond more efficiently to environmental stressors and supports immune resilience.

Licorice Root

Soothing to the throat and lungs, licorice also supports adrenal health—especially helpful when allergies are worsened by stress. (Avoid if you have high blood pressure.)

Hibiscus

Cooling and hydrating, hibiscus is packed with vitamin C and helps calm inflammation in the body.

Energetically, this tea helps bring balance during seasons of transition. The grounding quality of licorice and nettle meets the cooling nature of hibiscus, creating a blend that soothes both body and nervous system.

For best results, enjoy 1–2 cups daily during allergy season. Like many herbal remedies, consistency is key—this tea works gently over time to support your body rather than covering the symptoms.

This simple ritual of brewing tea can become a moment of pause, nourishment, and care—something we often need just as much as physical relief. Let this blend support you in breathing a little easier, moving a little slower, and reconnecting with your body’s natural balance.
